SIDNEY SANDERS McMATH CAMPAIGNING FOR GOVERNOR ON THE COURTHOUSE SQUARE IN MAGNOLIA, ARKANSAS, IN 1950. A native of Columbia County, McMath was a resident of Hot Springs when he took leadership of the post-World War II "G. I. Revolution." McMath won the governorship in 1948, was elected for a second term in 1950, but lost his bid for a third term in 1952. The picture belonged to the late R. S.
