THE GRAVEL WASHER AT THE F. C. PECK AND SONS GRAVEL PIT IN HORATIO, ARKANSAS, c. 1905. Clay residue was removed before the gravel was hauled away by the KCS Railway for use in its track beds. When the plant was in full operation, a whole train of gravel cars loaded out daily.
