Calhoun County
ENGINE 10 OF THE LITTLE BAY LOGGING TEAM, CALHOUN COUNTY, ARKANSAS, C. 1900-1906. Little Bay was a sawmill about five miles south of Thornton. The identified loggers are, front row, left to right: fourth, a Mr. Nance (with mustache); fifth, Joseph Plockney Gardner (the youth); far right, Clayton King (next to engine). Engine 10 was later wrecked beyond repair when it jumped the track at high speed running empty to the woods for the last load of the day. Picture from H. L. Gardner of Bearden.
