Camden has been servied by three airports. The earliest field was the Grayson Field, which was located between Old Wire Road and the Stephens Highway. Another field which saw some activity was the Hitsch Field near the north edge of town along Highway 79 near the Ouachita River. This photograph show the first hangar at Harrell Field, the present airport, located 4 miles north of Camden. The photograph is of the airport in the 1940s.
