    • To see how a FileMaker Pro database is created, populated, and served, we will create a database of the presenters at this conference.

  • Entering the data
    • The data were entered by hand by my student worker, Jennifer Rowsam, in about one half hour.
    • We will enter missing values here and now.
  • Serving the database
    • There are several options at this point:
      • Instant Web Serving
        • very easy to do
        • limited options in data viewing
      • Custom Web Serving
        • not as easily done
        • nearly unlimited options for data viewing
      • Serving with third-party package (WebStar, Lasso, and others)
        • much more complicated
        • supports SSL
