CHAPTER 10
Taxes, Deficits, and Debt
Taxes, budget deficits and the federal debt are
important issues that affect everyone in some way and generate a
great deal of debate among politicians and citizens. This chapter
provides links to Web resources providing useful information about
the federal budget, the annual deficits and debt, tax rates and
reform proposals, and state and local government expenditures and
