Questions

1. Define cognitive science. Why is cognitive science interdisciplinary? What are the interdisciplinary sources of CS? In your opinion, which are the three most important sources of CS? Why?

2. What is the Turing Test? What is the Loebner Prize? Has the Turing Test been met yet? What is the importance of the Turing Test to CS?

3. Without getting into neurons and parts of the brain, why is the brain important to CS? In other words, what does physiology teach us about CS? Hint1: which area is further along, CS or physiology? Why? Hint 2: evolved vs. created.

4. Give a definition and description of modern Artificial Intelligence (AI). Why is AI so important to CS? Be sure and include a listing and description of AI subfields.
