HCGS 1013. Honors Seminar. Prerequisite: Admission to the Honors College. Required of all students entering the Honors College within the first two semesters of enrollment. The Honors Seminar is an introduction to the academic experience, the Honors College, critical thinking, diversity issues, and other aspects of the academic life and the academic community. Fall semester.

- Reflection Papers due Monday, November 16, 2009
- Date Change: Dr. Lynne Belcher, Founding Director of the SAU Honors College, will visit 8 a.m. class ONLY on Friday, November 20. If you are in the 9 a.m. class you might wake up earlier and come hear her speak about the early days of the Honors College.
- Friday, November 6 is our trip to Little Rock to see exhibit of ancient Egyptian antiquities
- Fund Raising Chocolates are in and selling like hotcakes!
- If you have not had your midterm meeting yet, make arrangements to do so.
- Holocaust survivor Max Glauben will speak in The Reynolds Center Grand Hall on Monday, November 2nd beginning at 7:00 pm.
- Honors College will be selling chocolate bars soon. Check with Chris Harris for more information.

- Fund Raising Committee met Tuesday and listened to James Schlag's presentation. They also will listen to additional presentations next week.
- Grant opportunity! Read: Projects for the State Farm Youth Advisory Board
- The SFYAB committee met Friday, September 18 and brainstormed about the grant. After the meeting, several student members met again and produced a summary of the meeting. The committee will meet again soon (maybe on Wednesday, September 23) to review a rough draft of the grant application.

- Now scheduled for the Spring semester. We are planning a trip to Houston.
It is tentatively scheduled for October 16 and 17 and will include a visit to NASA and to Houston museums (Science, Fine Arts, Museum District). We'll need to raise about $1k to $2k.

Coke, and Sprite right now. Let me know if you want some other kind.)
